Well I pretty much explained my problem in the subject bar.... I had no idea buying a new mower would be so stressful. I mow about 1.5 acres. I live in western MD which is the mountains. I have one hill at about a 60 degree grade. I will not be using this for anything except mowing. Maybe pulling a small cart around. The Husky would be purchased from Lowes. I am a service disable veteran, so lowes will offer a 10% discount. The Cub would come from Tractor Supply, believe it or not they do not ... Good Afternoon everyone. Hey guys, Tossing up between two models by my two local dealers. Finding it really hard to get any objective opinions on which mower to choose! Both are the same price, and have the same 3 year warranty. Cub Cadet doesn’t seem to have as good a reputation (an independent mower repair man told me they are the one brand you shouldn’t buy), but I do like that their steering wheel on the zero turn. Would love any thoughts or advice!

No matter how much I pull on the swinging pulley that is connected to the tension spring, I still can’t slip the belt over the drive pulley. Title has my model info, but I'm really wanting to get a larger deck for my mower. Stock size is 38". Since I moved a couple of years ago, my mowing area has increased, as well as trimming, and having a bigger footprint would help my efficiency. My question is: can anyone help me with a resource or info that could let me know how big I can go, what sort of year/model/class I should be looking at specifically, or any other important things to consider? So a few weeks ago, my XT1 Cub Cadet 42 inch lawn mower with a Kohler engine seized up. No warning of any kind, just kind of stopped working and was completely out of oil. This was pretty frustrating to me as I had just changed the oil (1.8 QT, did the whole maintenance kit a few months prior). Took it to the dealer, dealer said the engine was totaled.
