40 97 dodge ram 1500 radio wiring diagram

24 years old motor 150k miles. Had trouble getting started a month ago. Oil leaked out a week ago. Got all that fixed. How much longer will this truck last? I don't know trying to wire a brake light kit to tow my truck. The wiring harness colors are different than what I can find online. Does anyone have a diagram with all of the colors and their functions?? My voltage tester isn't helping me at the moment.

Hi im trying to help my buddy install a new after market radio on his 2008 ram. Every thing I've looked up online is wrong. For instance its telling me the battery wire is pink. However there are no pink wires the colors I have are as followed Gray/red there's two of those, yellow/orange, solid yellow, darkgreen/light blue, dark green/gray, dark green/ light green, light green/ black , solid black, dark green,/yellow, gray/ light blue. Ok, I'm really frustrated, haha. As the title says: 97' Dodge Ram Van (B2500) with the 5.2 v8 318. I figure the 318 is kind of a common engine so maybe someone will know, but maybe the fact that it's a van will change the answer to the question since the wiring will be a bit different. The story: I posted in here maybe a year ago or more with odd symptoms. Van running weird, stalling at certain temps, running warm on very hot days, etc. I'm not a mechanic of course so I didn't know that a c... Two years ago, I paid off what was left of my dad's truck after he died so that I could keep it. Turned out to be a questionable financial decision because only a few months later, it wouldn't start. Battery wouldn't jump and I couldn't tell how old it was, so I replaced it. Still wouldn't start. No cranking or sputtering, just nothing. Not so much as a click. Being illiterate in the ways of cars and trucks, I called my cousin, who came over and tested all the fuses, the starter, and several oth... 97 dodge ram 1500 radio wiring diagram. I've looked but the ones I've found don't match First thing I did was install new battery, checked alternator. I tried parasitic draw test, showing 1.2 amps until I pull Fuse 11 (iod,radio,underhood lamp,sdars,hfm. Take Fuse 11 out, and the draw drops to, if my memory is correct, .1 or .2. I push fuse back in and unplugged JVC KW-850bt HU and checked again, still drawing 1.2 amps. No interior lighting is on, key is out doors are shut. I have no steering wheel controls besides the cruise, if those matter as I am not sure if they are on that c... Everything I drive my brake lights and turn signals blow. Just a little bit of force on the brakes is all it takes to blow the brake light fuse and the turn signals follow suit after. As much as I enjoy being a signal less ahole, I need my lights. Where could it be? I have replaced the fuses at least 12 times, the brake switch, cleaned the bulb connections, covered every single piece of wiring that even looked slightly damaged, replaced the flasher relay, and I can't find the issue. Anyone know where i can one? I just moved to a new neighborhood and my roommate's care has already been broken into. I'm curious to know if I should install a kill switch or something of the like (would love to hear other easy anti-theft ideas), or does my truck make the new enough cut of "difficult to hotwire" and I shouldn't worry?
